Hello! Man I haven't posted here in forever.

Just in case you don't follow my art journal over at theopteryx, there are a couple of thegaystarfish pictures that have popped up recently. A doodle drop, a sketch of Frank and Gerard under the sea, and last night's half-experiment where I redrew one of the pages from the first chapter. HELLO hello hello! So two weeks ago in the final chapter of thegaystarfish there was a very unsubtle (we don't do subtle here! no room for subtle!) hint to go check out another livejournal community. Hooray! The pictures for the raffle drawing winners are all bundled up and on their way to the mail slot. I don't usually post raffle pictures but I had a LOT of fun with these. I love love love working in ink. I hope you guys like them too!

The next month is looking a little crazy on the RL end so there might be another bit of a wait before the final chapter. I figured you guys are pretty used to ridiculous waits between chapters by this point, though, hahaha. One of these days I'll get it together! Thanks, as always, for your patience. ♥

I got a few questions as to why theopteryx and thegaystarfish had strikethroughs over the past day. This is what's up.

It was brought to my attention that my fan art, pages of this comic, and links directly to this community were being Tweeted to all of the band members. I know some of the intentions were good (and some, I honestly don't know) but, regardless, I don't draw fan art and this comic so that boys in a band will see them. I draw them for fandom. For fun. Some people don't mind the complete lack of fourth wall bandom has, but I am one of the ones who does, and I'm not comfortable with that situation.

So, until I figure out what I'm going to do, both journals will stay completely locked down. I'm a weirdo, I know, and overly paranoid, but if you want to show them your own fan art, that's fine. I just don't want them to see mine (regardless of rating or paring). I also realize that there is, truly, nothing I CAN do to stop someone from showing them this stuff, if they want, and it is part of the package deal you get when you decide to start posting things to the internet. Is what it is.



If I do know anything, though, it's that I have spent over a year and a half working on this silly comic and having the time of my life with everyone in this silly community and talking about these silly, silly little characters, and like hell am I going to stop with two chapters to go until the end. Just bear with me until I straighten things out a bit on this end, bbs, and I'll be back soon.

Sometimes you guys send me links to the GREATEST THINGS EVER and I love them but I really really had to share this one. From delendas: CNN.com has an article about scientists recording a strange unidentified noise which they have described as 'Bloop.' The article states that "it is too big for a whale and one theory is that it is a deep sea monster, possibly a many-tentacled giant squid."

MOOP MOOP'S COUSIN, PERHAPS? He has an accent, don't make fun. :(
